Whats Happening?

On the way to work i saw a dead sheep, dead cat and a shoe.

Is it an omen? Are more sinister things to come?

on my way to work this morning i saw a discarded television, a pretty girls arse (in truth it was a pretty arse, can't vouch for the girl as i was clearly behind her), a carpet warehouse, a lonely river, a giraffe sandwich, a page of truth, a boiled nun, a liquid briefcase, a slippery gerbal (possibly from one of the Benelux nations), a man riding a racer bicycle wearing way too much lycra, an old polystyrene box which used to house chips, a hedge of undetermined beauty, yesterday's roses withered and stained with unrequited love, a stray thought, my father waving from yesterday's sepia-tinted summer memories, an old woman crying, a child in a bath, BT tower, some bad graffiti, darkness a total engulfing darkness.

But what does it mean Gary?

Is it an omen for future things to come?!!

Well on my way to work I also felt there was something in the air...
A strange blanket of dull cloud over head, and yet no sign of rain.
There was nothing to be seen in my street, where a 'choca block' of competitively parked cars would usally lie.
The main street absent of its usually weary old street cleaner.
The shops empty as the leaves blow up and down.
Did no one arise this morning?
Has Valentino's romatic air of yesteryear stopped us in our tracks?
Is this a sign of things to come...

i'm no expert, mystic or shaman but i reckon i've got a handle on this - listen. the dead sheep represents lost innocence, what was once the hopeful naivety of the lamb has reached its pitiful zenith under the cursed adulthood of the sheep and ultimately a sad lonely death somewhere between antrim and belfast. it is a conundrum which we al must face - how can youthful vigour give way to elderly bitterness which paves a darkened path to death. this omen is a forewarning that YOU must twist your way through this truth and find a brightened corridor through which to travel until the path ends. find a brighter light to deflect the encroaching darkness. DON'T end up a dead sheep between antrim and belfast.

a dead cat? never naive, the cat has been blessed with an inate intelligence which allows it to shrug off lonliness and to be a lone hunter, a survivor. the transition from youth to adulthood is unnoticed by the cat, it never has to conform to bend it's will, yet it remains ultimately unfulfilled. never at home in groups with it peers, it seeks the repect of humans but will never BE human, never BE accepted as anything other than a plaything, a distraction, yet the cat seeks so much more. it's intelligence and inward strength has been its undoing - it can never reach its desired destiny.

The shoe. A simple metaphor, but effective and ultimately the most pertinent. YOU must choose your OWN path and WALK it. take heed - be neither the sheep, clining onto an innocence which it can't maintain, nor the cat believing experience will lead to a greater being and acceptence.

We will all end up dead on a roadside, merely part of someone elses morning observations, but take your own shoe and walk your own path - only betwixt the extremes may you find true peace.

I didn't see anything of interest on my way to work this morning, however a few weeks before Christmas I was driving past the Lough Shore Park, Jordanstown, and saw at least 150-200 birds all gathered together, and, I assume roosting. I believed said birds to be magpies as they were black and white. Now that really would have been an omen of some portent. However, a friend of mine suggested that I check out their beaks, and indeed the orange beak on each bird indicated that they were not magpies. So at present I am not worried about the omens associated with such a large group of birds gathered togther in the one place at half 8 of a frosty morning. Other than, you know the whole "The Birds", coming to get me implications. Thing is I am yet to discover what type of bird they are. And perhaps there is an omen in there somewhere, maybe in a Final Destination style of fortune telling. Watch out for the signs, they could lead you to saving yourself. Not sure though what the shoe would mean G....
