The Beast.

Hello

A few of you lovely readers (simon and patsy) have wondered what i refer to as the beast in my insomnia poem!

Releasing the beast is a metaphor for sleep, as in i need to get some sleep, the beast is sleep and it's haunting me.
Now i know you dirty minded folk thought it meant knocking one out! But it's not. Your dirty folk and need to wash your minds with soap!

wise up. maybe to you it stands as a metaphor for sleep, but to everyone else it has always been a metaphor for squirting one out under the duvet. fact!

"I toss and turn without cease
Need to release the beast
Need to rest my mind
For more than a few minutes at a time"

Having re-read the poem several times, and actually never once thinking you meant having a friendly fiddle, I have a few issues with your use of the term "beast" to refer to the sleep which haunts you. Surely the sleep you seek is an ultimate goal, a treasure if you will, a higher plain to which you aspire. I would suggest the following;

"I toss and turn, I never tire,
Of the desire to reach my goal
To rest my mind
And ease my weary soul"

Just a suggestion...and it might stop the dirty perverts form accusing you of being a horny devil??

gohir's a poet, leave him alone! if he says that the beast if a metaphor for sleep then he's right - poetic license, see? he's wrong like, but y'know....

It's like English Lit classes at school - there is no wrong or right answer...only your interpretation of the text. In this case a poem that Gohir probably wishes he'd never written....got any sleep yet Gohir? Or did you stay up all night writing more poems?

Oh good God! It's my poem! the Beast is sleep!

Screw you guys! I'm going home!

And no! I haven't had any sleep!

I'm ill! I have Ebola. I'm gonna stay in bed and try and get some sleep

I'm in a perpetual pain cycle where there is no escape! I am going to instigate a nurofen enhanced drug haze where i shall contemplate life's little intricacies and if there is life on other planets!
